Here's how we can automatically prove that women have no place calling games in the NFL: #1.) In any kind of a dust-up or situation with two players arguing and shoving each other there is a 0% chance any female is stopping that from escalating. #2.) Ask any former umpire or ref, being respected is far more important than being right all the time. The NFL really thinks that a female referee will get the respect of people who grew up in the projects (a.k.a. the real world)? Good luck with that. #3. Angel Hernandez in baseball is proof that officiating should absolutely always be a true meritocracy, and diversity merely for the sake of diversity or checking the proper quota box leads to failure. #4.) The league is opening itself up to a massive lawsuit by any female who turns out to be a failure. Multiple lawsuits, in fact. Not only can she simply claim she is a victim of discrimination the minute her performance earns her a demotion (see Angel Hernandez again), she can also claim the NFL is a hostile work environment merely by showing that players calling each other a certain part of the female anatomy is prima facea evidence of how bad it is in the NFL. #5.) Just like Angel Hernandez, no matter how good or bad a woman is, if she is not given a playoff game to officiate, again, she can argue discrimination, and blackmail the league into a situation where a poor official can now call the most important games. #6.) You've already lost much of your core, grassroots fans with all the politically correct stupidity in the game. It's why I quit watching football 10 years ago, and I am hardly unique. #7.) Where does it end? When do we start getting referees who are actually blind or handicapped merely to make the non-existent vocal minority of football fans even more happy? #8.) Why does it matter? Isn't gender just a made up construct? So why then does the league need to pat itself on the back and announce the gender of referees? #9.) If two football players accidentally get blocked into a male referee, it may hurt, but if the referee is a woman, you are looking at very serious health damage. And if she has to exit a game where a male might just be able to shake it off, well, then, she isn't fully qualified, is she? #10.) It is unconstitutional and illegal to hire based off gender only. If a female really is the most qualified applicant, she can be hired. But yet, remarkably, all of this started within the last six years. It's almost like hundreds or thousands of more qualified males are being passed over merely for optics.

I am a Giants fan, and I remember this game like it was last Sunday. Beckham was out of control, and Coughlin failed to rein him in early enough to quell his behavior. Norman was not without blame, but Beckham was just focused on attacking Norman, and his dropped passes early in the game proved it. Josh won that battle. And Odell was never the same guy after that.
